about Emily
Emily LaFleur-Brewster is a Deaf writer, content creator, and photographer based in Belleville, Ontario, Canada.
Photography has been part of her life since she was 12 years old. She has owned her photography business for over 10 years and has met many amazing people along the way. She believes everyone has a story worth sharing.
Her first published article, "Glanmore Celebrates Sign Language of Canada," was made possible with the support of Bay of Quinte, and she is grateful for that opportunity.
Emily created Write by Emily to share real stories through writing and photography. Her goal is to inspire others, build connections, and help people better understand the Deaf community through honest and meaningful storytelling.
She is now starting a new journey by meeting Deaf people at local cafés for interviews and portrait photos. Every café visit is a chance to slow down, share a conversation, and celebrate each person's unique story.
Emily believes every person has a story worth sharing and looks forward to sharing both her own journey and the stories of others.
Raise your mug and cheers to every story.

Deaf Stories and Blog
While both sections focus on storytelling, they serve different purposes.
Deaf Stories is dedicated to sharing the real experiences of Deaf individuals through interviews and photography. These stories help preserve Deaf history, celebrate Deaf culture, and provide a platform for Deaf voices to be heard.
The Blog is a space where I share personal reflections, community news, helpful resources, reviews, and articles on topics that matter to me and the Deaf community.
Together, these sections help inform, inspire, educate, and connect readers through meaningful content and authentic experiences.
